administration of dealing with customers who want to hire tipis, can
you help?
We have an excellent
administration system set up to deal direct with your visitors, once
we have had a site meeting and discussed your requirements you can
leave the rest to us.

What comes with your
tipis, how are they fitted out?
Our tipis usually
come with;

Groundsheet &
carpet

6 beds which
double up as comfy seating during the day

Easy to light
and maintain cast iron chimeneas mounted on a sturdy base plate.

Smoke and spark
free, simple to use fuel and of course kindling, firelighter etc. A
fire extinguisher is standard in all tipis.

6 chairs you can
use inside and out
-
Lanterns which
last 6 hours or on longer hires can be recharged from the mains or
your car.

Housekeeping
stuff like waste paper basket, fire gloves, dustpan, ashtrays, first
aid kit
-
Easy to follow
instruction sheets of making the fire, operating the smoke flaps
etc.

Even inside and
outside door mats!
We can modify the
furnishings to suit your event; more chairs, more beds are all
available. Once you’ve decided to hire your tipi we’ll do whatever we
can to make your event a success.

How big are they? How
many people fit in them? Where can they go?
All our hire tipis
are 18 feet in diameter, this size will comfortably sleep 4-6 people
with all their gear for a long weekend, you can even sleep 8 if you
don’t mind being closer together. At other times 10-15 can easily fit
around the fire.
We can pitch tipis
anywhere you have a flattish piece of grass. Our especially designed
go anywhere transport means we can fit under even small arches and
through any 7 foot gate.

How long can I have the
tipi for?
Generally we don’t
mind. Our hire fleet is so large so whether you need it for a few
days or a week, we generally always have tipis available. The major
cost for us is getting to your event and back again for which we make
a nominal mileage charge. Because we are all over the country most of
the time during the summer hiring out tipis, we can quite often
combine jobs and keep the delivery charge to a minimum.

Will I need to provide
anything?
Apart from a sense
of adventure, just a sleeping bag and pillow. If you want a complete
package including bedding we can provide good quality sleeping bags
and pillows at very reasonable prices. However for health & hygiene reasons
we don’t rent these out.

What about safety?
We want you and
your guest to be safe and really enjoy their tipi experience and as
such we leave no stone unturned to provide a safe environment. Every
stage of the hire process has been fully evaluated for safety. So in
addition to the full “risk and safety assessment” (copies available)
which we carry out every year, we also especially modify our tipis to
make them simple to use and very safe. Every aspect of the
construction is over engineered for the job, the canvas is fire
retardant and very tough. Fire extinguishers are provided, information
sheets for your guests to read and before handing over your tipi we’ll
give you a short introduction on how to get the best out of your tipi.
Additionally we carry full public liability for the hire of tipis
including the use of fires in them.

Can I hire tipis anywhere?
Pretty much, this
year we are doing jobs as far apart as Cornwall and Inverness so most
places in mainland U.K are possible.

Can you provide an on site
tipi expert?
I know some
insurers and event organisers require a tipi expert on site. This is
no problem, we are happy to leave one of our fully trained and
courteous crew for the duration of your event. We can even provide a
basic drinks and fire keeping service if you wish.

Just how easy are they to
use?
Brilliantly so.
We have a dedicated tipi design for our hire jobs that eliminates all
the nuances that traditional tipis sometimes need. The fires are
simplicity itself to use (even if your guests have never lit a fire
before) and the opening and closing of the smoke flaps is pretty much
fool proof. In addition, straight forward illustrated instructions
are left in every tipi.

Can you still have a fire
in the rain, and are they really weatherproof?
Yes and yes. The
brilliant elegant and timeless design of the tipi means you can still
be snug and warm around the fire even when it is lashing it down. And
apart for the odd drip for a short while during the heaviest storms
you, your guests and their gear will remain dry.
